Monogram Meat Snacks Drives Category Winner with NASCAR Meat Snacks
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (November 7, 2007) It was only a matter of time before NASCAR and one of NASCAR fans’ favorite snacks came together. Monogram Food Solutions today announced the introduction of a complete line of high-quality, NASCAR-branded jerky, beef sticks and summer sausage.
“NASCAR is one of the strongest and most respected brands in the world,” said Wes Jackson, president of Monogram Food Solutions. “There’s a natural affinity between NASCAR fans and meat snacks. We’re pleased to partner with NASCAR with a line of high-quality meat snacks.”
Monogram’s optimism for the future of NASCAR meat snacks is based on sound research. Simmons, one of the nation’s largest research providers, with a database of more than 30,000 people, revealed the fact that the NASCAR brand and the meat snacks category are a perfect match. While 38 percent of all U.S. consumers annually purchase products in the meat snacks category, 52 percent of all NASCAR fans purchase products in this category—more than 32 percent more than the general population.
NASCAR meat snacks are proudly manufactured in the U.S. using a proprietary process and only dried spices for fuller, more consistent flavor. The NASCAR line of meat snacks includes: beef jerky (original, peppered and teriyaki), turkey jerky, jerky chew, beef sticks (plain, with cheese) and summer sausage.
Monogram saw the opportunity to pair its expertise in producing some of the finest meat snacks in the nation with NASCAR, one of the nation’s leading and most exciting sports. More than 75 million people—a third of the U.S. population—consider themselves NASCAR fans. Televised weekly in more than 100 countries and in 30 languages, the sport is poised for further growth for years to come.
The popularity of NASCAR transcends the sport. Its fans are three times more likely to purchase the products of NASCAR sponsors compared to brands not involved in the sport. Its fans are proving their loyalty and support in the marketplace with sales of NASCAR-licensed merchandise topping $2.1 billion across numerous product categories.
